Crazy Me

Hi I'm Brooke.  I call myself a Domestic Goddess!   Basically I am a stay at home mom.  I have the privilege to stay home  and take care of my awesome family.  My family consists of one sexy husband, 3 amazing kids, 1 cute maltipoo, 1 toy poodle puppy, 1 cockatiel, 1 fish, 1 bunny and 1 hermit crab.  Yep, we are trying to open a petting zoo!

This is where I plan to document my Crazy Sexy Kitchen Project.  Kinda like The Julie/Julia Project, but without the butter and meat!  Can the average American family love vegan foods?  Find out as I cook my way through Crazy Sexy Kitchen...  I am not a fancy gourmet cook.  That is not a gene that I inherited.  This is really about a mom who would love to become a great cook.  Not only an awesome cook, but a healthy cook as well.  Kris Carr has set the ground work for the rest of us.  Kris Carr and Chef Chad Sarno have created a yummy vegan cookbook.  Page by page I hope to find myself closer to learning to cook delicious vegan meals.  How will I feel when all is said and done?  Will my belly feel happier, my skin glow and my soul shine brighter?  I can't wait to find out.

I am just a big fan of Kris Carr and all her awesomeness!  She isn't paying me to do this project.  I am doing this because I believe in her message, and want to learn how to cook vegan.  Maybe with a little luck she will come to dinner someday!  Wish me luck!

  1. This is awesome! I wanted to do something like this too for my blog even though it's not a food blog -- really glad you're doing it though so I can refer people to your experience! Best of luck and thank you for sharing!

  3. And yes, I have seen Julie/Julia - the movie and thought it was a great idea. I never thought that I should do something like that. But now, being newly vegan (a few months now) I think it is such a good idea to do something like that. I might just do it myself - actually, I am planning on doing it myself. Why not? I might just start my own blog - just to keep me on my toes. Hope you won't mind? I just love your idea to make all the dishes/drinks/desserts from the Crazy Sexy Cookbook. I love Kris as well - and her message!!

Thank you so much for sharing your experiences here :-)

  5. Brooke....I just found your blog through Kris Carr's Facebook page. So glad I did!

My friend on the west coast of Canada (I'm on the east!) and I both have Crazy Sexy Kitchen and are having fun trying out the recipes.

You've inspired me to cook through all the recipes and maybe not do a blog, but journal it old school :)

    Happy Cooking!
